TurboSplash2000 - Shortboard
TurboSplash2000
This model was born from our sessions at the local wave pool, RIF010. We wanted a board that felt like a freshwater toy (hence the name) in the better waves in wave pools: something that handles the tight, hollow takeoffs, deals with the limited space, and still carries speed through the flatter mid-section of the wave.
The design combines a wide, rockered nose for controlled, steep drops with a narrow squash tail that delivers tight, responsive turns on shorter, high-energy waves. The fuller outline adds extra planing surface to glide through slower sections, while the added curve in the rail helps the board fit nicely into smaller pockets.
It's also lots of fun to take the board out in saltwater sessions, especially fun in fast and steep beachbreak sessions.
How it rides
Great for steep, punchy waves between 0.8 – 2m. Works in both fresh and salt water. Early takeoff and quick acceleration, sharp turns, and enough hold to stay in control when things get vertical.
