About us

We are Antoine and Jurriaan (Anti en Jur), two good friends who love surfing and all things surf related. We have been surfing for a long time, and started building boards together in 2012. What started as a hobby, turned into a true passion. We love designing, building and nerding out about surfboards together. It gives us great energy and joy to help other surfers find their dream board(s).

History:

We met in Delft, where we were both studying. We lived together in a shared house for over 6 years. We were members of a student boardsport society (DROP Delft), where we met a lot of like-minded surfers and other great people. In those years, any excuse was good enough to go surfing, both in the Netherlands or in France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco etc. During the summers we would often go to France, to our friends from Progress Outdoor Surf Hostel, where we worked as general crew, in the kitchen, management or surfboard builders.

Since we kept obsessing over boards and shapes, we decided to start taking things more seriously in 2020, and the idea came up to start very own surfboard building company. The last years we’ve been working on good, thanks in preparation for the official launch in March 2023!

We build boards that we feel work in a variety of waves, look good and last a long time. Most of all we make boards that are fun and inspire the surfer to go out and enjoy every session.

Shapers, mentors and friends

Over the years, we learned a lot from different people around the world. All of them are cool people who make awesome boards, each in their own way. We are very grateful for the time they invested in educating us. Check out what they do below!

  • Jack Candlish (Verdure surf), a good friend from New Zealand who has developed a fantastic production method of building much more sustainable sustainable surfboards. We will soon start production of the Verdure construction in Rotterdam, as official licencees.
  • Maurice Cole (Maurice Cole surfboards), a living legend, well known in the surf world. Cutting edge performance boards, from 5 foot grovellers to 11 foot guns to tow boards. Worked with the world’s best surfers (Tom Curren, Taj Burrow, Noah Johnson, Ross Clarke Jones, to name a few). Famous for his revolutionary innovation in surfboards, mostly for his reverse vee models. Jur spent 12 months glassing and sanding boards for him. https://www.mauricecole.com/
  • Luca Rossi (Babel surfboards), an Italian astrophysicist, turned surfboard builder in Torquay, Australia. Being the great guy that he is, Luca agreed to let Jur spend 18 months at his workshop in Australia, to learn to make the best quality boards: https://babelsurfboards.com/. Luca, we are forever grateful for your help!
  • Julian Yoshi van Vliet (surfhuis), does great customs and repairs in Scheveningen. A mentor for Jur in the early stages of board building.  Julian developed his own surfboard CNC cutting machine and also lets you shape a board yourself! http://surfhuis.nl/
